Update, Finally!

So, it's been a while since I have updated my blog.  It's not for lack of effort though!  I have actually started a new post a couple times and deleted them or wasn't able to finish them.  So, here I am, able to complete one and update on the past couple weeks events!
Christmas was so great.  Mitch was off, which was the first time in a long time, and we were able to spend time as a family and just enjoy each other's presence.  Daniel was SO thankful for all of his gifts, even if the stocking had socks inside! ha!  He is such a blessing and so tender-hearted, thoughtful, polite, and respectful.  Just spending one on one time with him you will see that he is the sweetest little boy you will ever know.  I just love him so much.  Here's a picture of he and I right after we got the lights on the Christmas tree right after we went and picked it up (you will notice there aren't any ornaments on it, but he needed to go to bed, but I insisted on a "tree" picture):

Here's a pic of Daniel and Mitch on Mitch's 28th b-day.  Daniel helped me make the cake, so he was pretty excited to give it to daddy.

Here's some pics of Daniel opening Christmas gifts:

Believe it or not, he was pretty excited about getting a sweatshirt! :-)

Opening his special gift from Santa, it was a Leapster.  He had been asking for quite a while for it.  He absolutely loves it.

We went to my parents house around 1 and had snacky foods and layed the kids down so the adults could open gifts w/o the constant (understood) interruptions of the kid's anticipation.  It was great spending that time together.  And when the kids woke up, they did their gifts.  All of the kids were so good.  They waited their turn and were grateful for what they got.  Here's a pic of my nephew Carson and Daniel:

Ok, so right now I am listening to the Spirit channel on Direct t.v.'s satellite music, but there is this song playing: Big Enough by Ayiesha Woods.  Have you heard it?  The chorus saids "I don't want to box you in, because you're big enough, Jesus"  wow, what words to sing?!  It is a great reminder for me, especially where I am at right now, that God is big enough for problems that we think are impossible.  Sometimes we think that what is going on is so horrible or complicated that it would take an absolute miracle to change the way things are.  I think we probably all have something like that going on in our lives right at this moment.  God is big enough!  He is absolutely big enough!  I know for me, I need to remind myself of how many miracles God performed through out the whole Bible.  Even in the New Testament, we see countless miracles performed by Jesus and his disciples through the power of God.  So, who are we to question God and His power!  Trust me, I am chewing on my own words right now.  As I write this I am realizing how often I forget God's power and how much trust I put in my own abilities and control.  God forgive me!  Anyways, I didn't know that was going to be part of my blog, but that song was on and I just had to share how awesome it was!

So, to summarize the Christmas season this year, it was pretty great.  It was busy, cold, tasty, funny, surprising, and amazing!  How's that for a summary?!

Hope the Christmas season was good for you as well.  I went for a walk today and was thinking about how  nice the spring and summer will be.  Then I realized we are never content with what season we are in!  Oh well, the sun felt amazing today and it was a great chance for me to be still and take in God's beauty of Nevada!  Try and be still and see God's beauty in everything around you.  It will put things into perspective for you!
